The call of Christ has never been a call to comfort. It is a call to obedience. Sometimes that obedience takes us across cities; other times it leads us into forgotten villages, across dangerous terrain, and through mountains where the Gospel has scarcely been heard.
Recently, our mission team embarked on another evangelistic outreach to a remote rural community in Northern Nigeria. For the safety of the people on the ground and the ongoing work of the ministry, we are withholding the exact location. Nevertheless, we believe it is important to share what God is doing so that the global Body of Christ can rejoice, pray, and continue standing with us.
From the very beginning, we knew this mission would demand sacrifice.
The road eventually came to an end, but the journey did not. Our team continued on foot, trekking for more than seven hours through rocky paths, steep mountain trails, dense vegetation, and difficult terrain. Every climb tested our strength. Every mile reminded us that the Gospel has never advanced because it was easy, it has always advanced because ordinary people were willing to obey an extraordinary God.
The physical exhaustion was real. There were moments when the weight of our bags, the heat, and the rugged landscape challenged every step we took. Yet throughout the journey, we encouraged one another with prayer, worship, and the assurance that somewhere beyond those mountains were people whom Christ loves deeply.
When we finally arrived, we were welcomed into a community where Islam is the predominant religion and where many people have had little or no opportunity to hear the Gospel clearly explained. In places like these, Christian witness requires wisdom, humility, compassion, and complete dependence on the Holy Spirit.
Rather than approaching people with arguments or confrontation, our mission was to demonstrate the love of Christ through genuine relationships. We listened to families, shared meals where appropriate, prayed for those who welcomed prayer, answered sincere questions about the Christian faith, and faithfully proclaimed the message of salvation through Jesus Christ.
Every conversation reminded us that behind every culture, every tradition, and every religious background is a human heart searching for hope, peace, forgiveness, and truth. The Gospel speaks to that deepest need.
Throughout our time in the community, we witnessed moments that strengthened our faith. Hearts that initially seemed closed became willing to listen. Questions turned into meaningful conversations. Fear gave way to curiosity. Small gatherings formed as people invited friends and relatives to hear the message being shared. We saw that when God’s Word is faithfully proclaimed, He is able to accomplish what no human effort can achieve.
Although much of the work in communities like this happens quietly and away from public attention, we are reminded that God often does His greatest work in places the world overlooks. Heaven celebrates every step taken in obedience, every seed planted in faith, and every life touched by His love.
Our mission does not end when we leave a village. In many ways, that is where the work truly begins. We remain committed to supporting ongoing discipleship efforts, strengthening local believers, encouraging those who are seeking Christ, and trusting God to continue watering the seeds that have been planted. We believe that lasting transformation comes through faithful discipleship, prayer, and the work of the Holy Spirit over time.
This outreach has once again reminded us that the Great Commission is costly, but it is always worth it. Mountains may stand in the way, difficult roads may slow us down, and physical exhaustion may challenge our resolve, but none of these compare to the eternal value of bringing the hope of Jesus Christ to those who have never truly heard His Gospel.
As we reflect on this journey, our hearts are filled with gratitude. We thank God for His protection throughout the long trek, for His strength when our own strength was fading, for every opportunity to speak His Word, and for every person who welcomed us with kindness.

Pray for the people of this rural community, that the seeds of the Gospel will continue to bear lasting fruit.
Pray for those who are seeking the truth, that the Holy Spirit will reveal Christ to them and strengthen them to follow Him.
Pray for protection over local believers and everyone involved in the ongoing discipleship efforts.
Pray that God will continue opening doors into other unreached communities throughout Northern Nigeria.
And finally, pray that He will keep raising labourers who are willing to climb mountains, cross rivers, walk difficult paths, and endure hardship so that every tribe, every people, and every village may hear the saving message of Jesus Christ.
The mission continues.
The harvest is still plentiful.
And until every community has heard, we will keep going wherever the Lord leads.
